A List to Keep Busy During Social Distancing

The world has been spinning for 4.5 billion years— for the first time—it feels like daily life has stopped. 

Social distancing does not mean isolation. Self-improvement is not cancelled ladies and gentleman. Here is a list of inspo to get you through the next 14 days:

  • Go on a hike
  • Go on a run
    • Download the Nike run app and get movin’. 
  • Do an at-home, youtube workout
    • Some favs: MadFit, POPSUGAR Fitness, Yoga with Adriene 
  • Read a book
  • Go on a walk and listen to a podcast (my current favorite)
  • Download Duolingo
  • Try a new recipe (or 2)
  • Talk to your dad
  • Water your plant baby
  • Start a blog
  • Download an old app you loved as a kid
    • Temple Run, Cut the rope, Tiny wings
  • Apply to internships
  • Clean your closet
  • Donate clothes and food
  • Do a facemask
  • Watch church online (if your mass got cancelled today!) 
    • Or any religious practice!
  • Learn how to do a handstand
  • Write a letter to your future self
  • Create art
  • Paint your dog
  • Pet your dog
  • Have a catch with your brother
  • Make at-home ice cream
  • Facetime
    • GROUP FACETIMES
  • Sit outside in the sun
  • Go to the pier
  • Learn some TikTok dances
  • Make a new playlist
  • Start a new Netflix show
  • Drink water!
  • Make an aesthetic avocado toast
    • Post it on the gram
  • Do your taxes
  • Send your nurse friend some flowers 
  • Order Chipotle (Free Delivery!)
  • Start a gratitude journal 
  • Learn to crotchet 
  • Donate to the WHO 
  • Eat cookies with milk 
  • Finally finish a game of Monopoly
  • BLANKET FORTS
  • Organize your desk for online classes

  • Have a movie night with your fam

  • Read an entire newspaper
  • Search “happiness” on Pinterest

Things NOT to Do

  • Panic
  • Buy an obscene amount of toilet paper.

Be mindful of the online content you are consuming. Viruses are contagious, but so is panic. In times like these, be mindful of one another and do what you can to limit the spread of hysteria and the virus. Let’s do our best to be positive at times like these. Pauses in busy life can encourage re-centering. Try something new!!!!! Or do the thing you’ve been putting off.
